Student transportation is the largest mass transit system in the U.S. The way kids get to and from school has a direct impact on our kids, families, schools and communities. While school districts spend $28 billion annually on transportation, only 30% of kids get to school on a bus. The current system can no longer meet all the transportation needs of our districts, schools and families — and its shortcomings are causing inequities in educational access that are affecting the welfare of millions of kids each day.

HopSkipDrive is taking a different approach to arranging safe, reliable school transportation that meets needs that aren’t being addressed by the current system, helping to fill gaps and supplement the student transportation options available. What you'll do

As Compliance Manager, Education Partnerships, you will be highly motivated to organize and push forward compliance requirements for HopSkipDrive as a transportation network company working in the education sector.  You have a particular ability to translate legal requirements into operational conversations with clients and stakeholders.

• Maintain a deep understanding of current and upcoming regulatory compliance requirements, as well as the manner in which the company meets those requirements
• Partner closely with cross-functional partners to translate compliance requirements for clients
• Work with operations teams to plan compliance with requirements
  • Assist with compliance stand-ups in new markets
  • Complete ad hoc research on compliance-related questions and issues
• Facilitate implementation of compliance requirements, including setting up systems and processes to ensure compliance
• Support the Director in optimizing HopSkipDrive’s rapidly growing regulatory portfolio

What You Bring

• A candidate who wants to bridge the gap between regulatory and company compliance, client support, and business development, and strong preference given to candidates with experience in education compliance  
• 5+ years experience in compliance, OR JD & 3+ years experience in compliance 
• Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams to educate clients on company compliance, translating requirements for both internal and external audiences
• Proven ability to facilitate implementation of compliance requirements, setting up systems and processes to ensure compliance with limited supervision.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to practical business operations.
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in documentation and reporting
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving regulatory environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time

HopSkipDrive is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this role is $100,000-$125,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this role also includes equity stock options.
