Marsh McLennan’s Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs (LCPA) department promotes a culture in which ethical, lawful, and risk mindful behavior is encouraged and reinforced. LCPA develops and implements policies and procedures, systems and controls, training and communications, monitoring activities, and management reporting to prevent, detect and respond to violations of law and company policies.

We are looking for a Compliance Business Partner to join our team and be based in one of our key offices, which include: New York, NY; Boston, MA; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL, Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; and San Francisco, CA, with other US locations considered.

You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, monitoring, and advising on an array of risk and compliance issues in Marsh’s US property and casualty brokerage business.

  • Demonstrate a command of key areas of property & casualty insurance brokerage risk and compliance including state legal and regulatory regimes affecting areas such as compensation, conflicts of interest, surplus lines, certificates of insurance, multinational placements, and others.
  • Be well-versed in the legal and regulatory framework and internal best practices for professional service organizations and plan compliance programs to meet evolving requirements.
  • Think strategically and collaborate effectively with business leadership and others to problem-solve, implement process change, and promote compliance.

What you'll need to have:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant property & casualty insurance industry experience in compliance, broking and/or operational capacity, preferably with an insurance broker, insurance company, or insurance regulator
  • Technological proficiency and experience working collaboratively and effectively in cross-functional teams and/or in a matrix organization, including on complex and sensitive matters.
  • Strong conviction for compliant and ethical behavior that you model with personal integrity and accountability.
