As Marqeta’s Compliance Analyst, Governance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our compliance framework. The agile, data-driven, and service-minded group within Marqeta’s Compliance Department you’ll be joining is dedicated to navigating Marqeta and our Customers through the complex regulatory landscape with precision and agility.
This high-visibility strategic support role is essential to proactively mitigating regulatory compliance risks. You’ll be creating and maintaining an industry-leading control environment and ensuring our policies and processes are both efficient and effective.

The Impact You’ll Have
You will work closely with the broader Legal, Risk, and Compliance (LRC) team to:
- Support a variety of compliance-first strategic initiatives that impact Marqeta, our Customers, and our Partner Banks
- Play a pivotal role in regulatory change management, helping ensure seamless integration of new compliance requirements
- Maintain and update the risk register to reflect current threats and opportunities
- Facilitate change management initiatives that drive continuous improvement in our governance practices
- Administer, monitor, and escalate (as needed) conflicts of interest and entertainment/gift requests
- Administer and monitor regulatory compliance training across Marqeta
- Coordinate enterprise communications related to governance to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged
- Provide support for Customer and Partner Bank meetings, ensuring all documentation and compliance policies, procedures, and other records are in order
As you own and develop Marqeta’s regulatory compliance control environment and risk register, you will eventually report on the governance function in management forums, such as the Compliance Committee. In addition:
- You’ll collaborate with your LRC colleagues and cross-functional teams to enhance and refine existing control frameworks to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant regulations
- You will be a support for regulatory and Partner Bank engagements, including coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate responses to external requests and inquiries
- You’ll have the opportunity to implement process improvements leveraging technology such as Asana, LogicGate, and other enterprise applications
Who You Are
- 2+ years of regulatory compliance experience with exposure to governance processes and initiatives, preferably in a bank or fintech environment
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cross-functional working relationships
- A supportive and service-oriented mindset
- Knowledge of and keen interest in financial laws, regulations, and standards—especially enforcement trends
- Highly detail-oriented; ability to meticulously manage documentation, policies, and data, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards
- Strong organizational skills
- Continuous improvement mindset, with an aptitude for analytical thinking
- Basic research skills to stay updated on evolving industry standards
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technology skills; ability to pick up new software quickly
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities in a logical manner
Nice-To-Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Prior experience in a governance role and/or developing risk assessments
- Prior project or program management experience
- CRCM or similar certification

Compensation and Benefits
Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:
- National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
- Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
- Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:
- National: $77,500 - $96,900
- Premium: $83,900 - $104,900
- Premium Plus: $91,200 - $114,000
