The Collins Mission Systems Competitive Intelligence (CI) Analyst is accountable for performing primary/secondary research, cultivating human intelligence on Collins markets and competitors and developing customer and competitor analysis on strategic captures.

Must synthesize information to develop comprehensive CI analysis that provides Campaign and Pursuit level recommendations, including but not limited to: development of CI Plans, customer & competitor assessments, support development of Collins win strategies and competitive bid recommendations that increases the probability of winning new business. Must have the ability to add structure to ambiguous/complex problems and synthesize large amounts of competitive and customer data into clearly articulated strategic recommendations concerning Collins captures across multiple technology domains and market areas. Requires a strong ability to apply creative initiative in CI analysis, tools, methodologies, and practices. Will partner with Collins Capture Managers (CM), Business Development (BD) leads and appropriate cross functions to develop, support and execute plans for strategic captures.

As the CI Analyst you will interact with BD Executives, Portfolio/Product Line Directors, and CMs. Person will ensure the broader utility and application of CI on future captures with similar customer, competitor, or technology by appropriately indexing all relevant information. The CI Analyst must have strong leadership skills, the ability to manage diverse cross functional teams, and the ability to cultivate, develop, and institute best practices across the enterprise.
 

What You Will Do

• Cultivate, develop, and institute best CI practices across the enterprise

• Independently source, analyze, and synthesize data and intelligence into actionable information

• Ensure the broader utility and application of CI on Collins strategic initiatives and captures

• Develop and maintain CI databases, processes, and tools by appropriately cataloging customer, competitor, technology, and pricing information

• Define and implement leading edge CI practices within Collins, including advanced analytics techniques

• Partner with BD leads and CMs to develop integrated CI plan as part of the Capture Process and independent CI assessments for Collins Pursuits and ad hoc leadership queries

• Lead and facilitate Competitive Position and Black Hat engagements for CI analysis, competitive advantage and win strategy assessments on top pursuits.

• Support PTW Analysts with development of estimates of competitor offerings and solutions

• Utilize CI to support development of bid strategy recommendations

• Establish an experience based track record of competitor bid behavior to enable adequate evaluation of competitor bid approaches on major pursuits

• Brief key stakeholders and Senior Leadership on CI strategy recommendations

• Leverages & maintains extensive internal and external network to identify new competitive intelligence

• Conduct peer reviews to explain work and gain feedback from other analysts and, conversely, to provide feedback to other analysts likewise presenting their work for review

• Collect and analyze post-submittal intelligence to determine the accuracy of analysis, provide updates to improve the accuracy therein, and archive the methodology for other new business pursuits reuse

• Lead the development of post-award Win/Loss assessments for root cause analysis and lesson learned

• Support CI collection efforts at key Tradeshows and conferences

Qualifications You Must Have 

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• 2+ years of experience in US Aerospace & Defense Industry with familiarity with RTX's major competitors with associated competitor/industry knowledge

• Proficiency in MS Office

• Must be willing to travel

What We Prefer

• Active Security Clearance on Day 1 is Preferred, not Required

• 1+ years of Competitive Intelligence experience including developing and articulating win strategy, risk mitigation, and competitive landscape with executive leadership and providing sound recommendations for capture teams

• A proven track record of leading Competitive Intelligence efforts for captures larger than $25M

• Strong knowledge of the RTX proposal processes and procedures

• Strong knowledge of acquisition process for US DOD, Foreign Military Sales, and Direct Commercial Sale proposals and/or RFI/RFPs

• Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or MBA or other relevant disciplines

• Secret or higher DOD clearance or ability to be cleared

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
