What this role is all about:
Reporting to Manager, Total Rewards, in a post-merger environment, the Compensation Analyst is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and administration of the company’s compensation and recognition programs. This role involves analyzing compensation data, conducting market analysis and job evaluations ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness, and assisting with the development of compensation strategies to attract, retain, and motivate talent.
The Compensation Analyst will collaborate with People and Culture Business partners, and external vendors to ensure that compensation practices are aligned with Beem’s Compensation philosophy, guiding principles and organizational goals, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
This role is open to remote working arrangements within B.C. While we welcome all applications, we anticipate filling this role with a candidate located in British Columbia.
What you’ll do:
Compensation Program Administration
- Administer and manage compensation programs including base pay, incentive plans and salary structures
- Assist in the annual compensation review process, ensuring that salary adjustments and promotions are processed accurately and on time
- Support the execution of pay-for-performance initiatives, merit increases, and incentive plans
Market Research, Benchmarking & Job Evaluation
- Assist with market analysis and benchmarking to ensure the company’s compensation packages are competitive within the industry
- Utilize salary surveys and compensation data to compare internal pay practices to external market trends and recommend adjustments as needed
- Monitor changes in compensation laws and market trends to ensure compliance and maintain competitive offerings
- Assist in job evaluations to ensure accurate and equitable leveling of positions based on responsibilities, skill levels, and market conditions
- Partner with the People and Culture Business Partners and provide recommendations for salary bands and target salaries ensuring internal equity is maintained across the organization
- Own the job description management to ensure there is a tracking system for the accuracy and maintenance of all Beem job description
Compensation Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze compensation data and prepare reports for management regarding trends, budget impacts, and compensation distribution
- Provide data-driven insights to inform strategic compensation decisions and workforce planning
- Ensure compensation programs are compliant with the BC Pay Transparency law’s requirements
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compensation processes, tools, and technology
Recognition Program Development & Integration
- Assist in developing and refining employee recognition programs that acknowledge and reward exceptional performance, behaviors aligned with company values, and milestone achievements
- Harmonize recognition programs across merging organizations, ensuring that new programs are equitable, aligned with organizational goals, and well-received by employees
- Work with the Business Partners to integrate recognition programs post-merger, ensuring consistency in messaging, eligibility, and reward criteria across different teams and cultures
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of recognition programs through employee feedback and engagement metrics, adjusting as needed to maintain relevance and impact
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in compensation analysis, salary surveys, and job evaluation preferred
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and trends
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts) and data analysis tools
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex compensation topics clearly
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
What you’ll gain:
- The salary range for this position is $74,000 - $85,000
