Join our team! MCD Global Health seeks a Community Outreach and Training Coordinator to join our growing nationwide training team. If you have experience working in and providing outreach in immigrant communities, including delivering information and educational sessions in community-based organizations, we want to recruit you to our team. The Community Outreach and Training Coordinator position works with MCD’s Community Health Worker Training and eLearning teams. This position is accountable for designing educational curriculums and developing evidence-based online trainings. It also serves as a cultural broker, provides outreach to community-based organizations in Maine and across the U.S., assists in training development, and provides logistical support for virtual and in-person training. This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to develop plain language messages and resources about complex public health information. Bilingual or multilingual, with the ability to speak and write in one or more languages, such as French, Somali, Arabic, or Portuguese, is a plus. Travel in Maine and various U.S. locations is required.

Job duties:

Training Coordination and Community Outreach duties:

  • Serve as a cultural broker and provide outreach to the community health worker community in Maine and other locations across the U.S.
  • Support MCD’s community outreach by building and maintaining strong working relationships with diverse partners and community-based organizations.
  • Assists in training development and provides scheduling, registration, and logistical support for virtual and in-person training.
  • Assists in promoting training participation recruitment, including developing content for social media and outreach to training sites and potential partners.
  • Provides administrative support to subject matter experts, helping ensure that they are identified, recruited, and prepared on the training topics chosen
  • Supports execution of service agreements, MOUs, and related documentation required to achieve training goals with subcontractors, faculty, and consultants
  • Actively tracks work plans and tasks through project management and collaboration tools, including coordinating resources, tools, and tasks with subcontracts and consultants.
  • eLearning and Curriculum Development duties:
  • Coordinate various eLearning projects, including overseeing contracts, services, and relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Design curriculum and audiovisual components for eLearning programs using evidence-based practices.
  • Coordinate with content advisors, consultant groups and subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Collect evidence-based information and educational content through research and SMEs.
  • Develop educational curriculums using knowledge of learning theories, health literacy, and instructional design.
  • Write audio scripts in collaboration with SMEs and prepare for recording with voiceover talent
  • Design web, visual, and audio components utilizing MCD IT Web developers and voice talent and eLearning software such as Articulate 360
  • Facilitate the beta-test review process with partners, consultants and SMEs.
  • Provide support to other online training development by the eLearning team, including copy editing and prototype review.

Requirements

Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills:

  • The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or related work experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to develop plain language messages about complex information
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of disseminating health education information effectively
  • Able to utilize graphic design skills to develop outreach materials, training and educational resources
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office programs
  • Able to give presentations about basic program information and to conduct trainings for a variety of audiences
  • Able to work on multiple projects consecutively while maintaining accuracy, paying attention to detail, and meeting project deadlines
  • Able to function effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Knowledge related to public health topics
  • Fluent in written and spoken English is a must.
  • Bilingual or multilingual with the ability to speak and write in one or more of these languages: French, Somali, Arabic, or Portuguese.
  • Proficiency in Zoom and other distance technology applications that support online training
