Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal pines is hiring a Community Engagement Specialist to serve Wilson, Greene, and Lenoir Counties. 


The Community Engagement Specialist position is a part-time position (up to 19 hours/ week) and is responsible for preparing and facilitating programs for girls in communities throughout Wilson, Greene, and Lenoir Counties.  This position pays $16/hr. The Community Engagement Specialist is a Part-Time position with work hours between 8a-5p. The individual MUST reside within North Carolina and will be required to attend in-person activities within the area of Wilson, Greene, and Lenoir Counties.


Day in the Life

  • Deliver programs to groups of 25+ girls at partner sites.
  • Prepare and set up materials based on programming.
  • Travel throughout assigned area to 1-3 partner sites a day.
  • Interface with site leaders and staff


Requirements


  • High School degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field. 
  • Experience working with children and youth, professional or volunteer experience considered.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, produce results, and must be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work part time hours between 8a-5p, and travel throughout the assigned region.
  • Occasional weekend availability.
  • This position requires driving a council vehicle or a personal vehicle; therefore, the individual must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license, and self-report any vehicle violations.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift or move a minimum of 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Must be willing to obtain GSUSA membership ($25 annually) upon employment.
