About the Role

Brightline brings virtual behavioral and mental health care to families, when and where they need it. You have the exciting opportunity to be a critical part in advancing the mission of a new partnership with Brightline and Children and Youth Behavioral Initiative (CYBHI).  Established as part of the Budget Act of 2021, CYBHI is a $4.7B five-year package of investments that seeks to reimagine behavioral health care for California’s youth. The goal is to promote social and emotional well-being, prevent behavioral health challenges, and provide equitable, appropriate, timely, and accessible services for children and youth behavioral health needs for free. Brightline was selected from a group of 450+ vendors to provide the Behavioral Health Virtual Services Platform (BHVS) for children under 13 as one of the workstreams for CYBHI.

We are seeking a Community Engagement Manager who will help lead the effort to spread the word to California families about this wonderful benefit to support mental health during this youth mental health crisis. You will work alongside the Community Engagement Senior Manager to support in the planning and execution of our California grassroots outreach program for key providers, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), School-Based Organizations (SBOs), and Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs).

    • Support the development of operations and processes needed to make the Community Engagement team efficient.

    • Share insights and feedback with internal teams to drive enhancements to campaign strategy

  • Strategic Relationship Management: 

    • Lead by example as you passionately communicate our company's vision, values, and purpose to external partners, inspiring others to actively participate in our mission.

    • Be responsible for a target number of activations in your local county

    • Serve as a public presenter on BrightLife to various stakeholders and audiences when needed across the state 

    • Uphold a commitment to transparency, authenticity, and accountability as you address challenges and work to build and maintain trust with stakeholders.

  • Effective Collaboration: 

    • Support the state-wide affiliate network in collaboration with the clinical team: 

    • Design and implement scalable strategies to engage referral partners across different channels, focusing on how best to meet their needs as a partner and drive value for Brightline.

    • Cultivate and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and influencers within the pediatric behavioral and mental healthcare ecosystem

Why We Are Excited About You

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.

    • Background in the behavioral health field is a plus

  • 2+ years experience with managing a team required.

  • Proven experience in community engagement, relationship management, and people leadership, preferably within the healthcare or mental health sector.

    • Experience working collaboratively with state and county agencies, school districts, health providers and/or health plans particularly around behavioral health is a plus  

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and authentically to diverse audiences.

  • Experience with Salesforce a plus. 

  • Critical thinking and data-driven mindset with the ability to leverage analytics to drive strategic decisions.

  • Demonstrated agility in making dynamic decisions and driving proactive action.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to foster open communication and teamwork.

  • Passion for our mission to improve mental health and wellness on a global scale.

  • Must be based in Southern California (LA county preferred) and have reliable transportation

Compensation Philosophy:

  • At Brightline we have built a total rewards philosophy that includes fair, equitable, competitive, geo-based compensation that is performance and potential based. Our strategy is based on robust market research, including external advisory specializing in national compensation, and thoughtful input from every level of our organization. It is a combination of a cash salary, equity, benefits, wellbeing, and opportunity. In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this role for California based applicants is $102,000 - $140,000.
