Schedule:

Hours scheduled between the hours of 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday with some evenings/weekends commitments, flexible scheduling. Regular one-on-one with your supervisor. Attending Morgridge Center training, staff meetings, and events as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
Must be an enrolled UW graduate student for the 2025-26 academic year
Demonstrated experience within community-based learning (CBL), community-based research (CBR), or other community-engaged work; and/or relevant work in the administration of a successful academic program within a higher education setting.
Strong commitment to using a social change approach to community engagement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Familiarity and experience with community-engaged scholarship pedagogies
Experience teaching and creating course content in higher-education settings
Flexibility to meet the dynamic needs of the position and respond to shifting priorities throughout the academic year
Strong capacity for data collection and organization
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent follow-through
Demonstrated experience working both independently and collaboratively
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canvas, and Google Suite programs

Position Summary/Job Duties:

This role focuses on supporting the 2-credit course, Counseling Psychology 601: Best practices in community-engaged scholarship, and the Morgridge Center's growing community-engaged scholarship (CES) portfolio. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting the administration of the Wisconsin Idea Fellowship, and other Morgridge Center workshops and events.

Co-instruct Counseling Psychology 601 (50%)
Support course administration, including updating the course syllabus, Canvas materials, and coordinating guest speakers.
With the teaching team, support weekly course planning by preparing readings and teaching materials.
Engage with students' questions and support their overall learning.

Wisconsin Idea Undergraduate Fellowship administration (25%)
Support the recruitment and selection of Wisconsin Idea Fellows.
Hosting in-person and virtual information sessions
Answering inquiries
Creating review committee
Review and provide feedback for priority applications
Sharing final application materials
Organizing selection committee meeting
Meet regularly with and provide mentorship and guidance to current and perspective Fellows.

Other Morgridge Center work as needed (25%)
Attend staff and other meetings
CES workshops and other Morgridge Center programming
Reaching out to graduate students to inform programming
Support other center-wide work as needed
