We’re currently hiring for a Communication Specialist, Health to work with our federal health client on several mission-critical public health projects.
As a Communication Specialist, Health, you will:
Support our client across a large campaign in key areas of evidence-based health communication and social marketing, including audience-centered strategy, content development, dissemination, copywriting and editing, plain language/clear communication, and digital media channel management.
Use science-based communication strategies and tactics, including those that best resonate with audiences of focus, to reach and engage audiences to increase visibility of programs, resources, and materials.
Incorporate social determinants of health and partnership development principles and best practices into all project work.
Develop content and communication products using plain-language and health equity standards, working with client and ICF Next teams in research, evaluation, creative, digital, multicultural and media, to write, edit and design compelling content to support a range of communication efforts.
Lead key project tasks and work with senior and junior staff on the prioritization, coordination, completion, and submission of key project deliverables.
As a Communication Specialist, Health, you will have:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in health communication, health education, marketing, public relations, social sciences, or equivalent.
5+ years of demonstrated experience with federal, state, tribal or local health agencies, managing and implementing social marketing or health communication projects for public health programs.
U.S. Citizenship (required by Federal government for position)
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with 3+ years of federal health and/or public relations, creative, or media agency experience.
Candidates with 3+ years of lived or learned experience working with HIV centered communication or community engagement programs.
Candidates with technical health communication or social marketing expertise including audience-centered strategies; writing, testing, and disseminating messages; advising creative teams on communication product development; and outreach recommendations (e.g. web, social media, paid media, earned media, partner engagement).
