Communications Reporter
United States - Remote
Ragan Communications seeks a reporter with a passion for reaching audiences in creative ways. This reporter will contribute content to both PR Daily, which focuses on external communications, and Ragan.com, which serves internal communicators.
We’re a media company with an educational mission and work to bring the best professional development and relevant news to our audiences in a way that’s approachable, engaging and useful. This reporter will bring a curiosity about the field of communications and a desire to create service journalism that helps practitioners elevate their craft and advance their careers.
This candidate should be someone who’s willing to shake things up and create journalism outside of traditional articles. Our audience is busy and stressed – how can we deliver practical, tactical information in a short period of time?
That’s your mission.
In a typical week, you might interview the CCO of a Fortune 100 company, persuade a source to share their template for internal emails or scour news sites for the biggest stories with a PR slant for The Daily Scoop. You’ll also be comfortable pitching in to help recruit speakers for Ragan’s slate of conferences – and potentially taking the stage yourself as a moderator or host.
You’ll work with a team of editors, reporters and conference producers in a supportive, fully remote environment.
Responsibilities include:
Travel is required approximately six times a year for conferences, awards ceremonies, internal meetings and more.
Experience
At least two years of experience as a reporter, communications professional or a combination of the two.
Benefits and Perks:
Our core values – Connection, Curiosity, Innovation, and Integrity – guide all we do and help define what’s important to us at Ragan.
