Summary:

The Commercial Lines Account Manager Select is responsible for providing service to the agency’s clients on their commercial insurance program through various means of communication with strong emphasis on retention and growth through prompt and courteous service. Placement of new and renewal business.  They are largely responsible for the retention of existing clients and revenue, while growing the book of business and supporting the department initiatives.

Monitoring of Expiration Reports and Backward Ex Reports and workflows within the Department

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Placement of new and renewal business for Select Clients
  • Prepare and send Future ACORD applications to market for New and Renewal indications.
  • Know all aspects of how the Renewal Process flows and how to obtain information for renewals.
  • Marketing of New Business and Renewals
  • Provide direct customer service support for commercial lines clients.
  • Issue appropriate documentation, as needed including certificates of insurance, auto insurance ID cards, etc.
  • Compose or assist in composition of highly technical or sensitive correspondence.
  • Ability to translate highly technical information for the client’s understanding.
  • Compile applications, negotiating with underwriters and preparing proposals for new and renewal business offerings.
  • Contact clients and/or underwriters to obtain additional information or answer questions.
  • Resolve policy and coverage related concerns for clients, insurance carriers, and Producers.
  • Ability to communicate negative actions to the client, while offering a solution to remedy the situation.
  • Bind, or place coverage with acceptable carriers adhering to appropriate carriers binding authority.
  • Remain current on company insurance products and offerings, as well as developments in the marketplace, including product line offerings, changing insurance consumer trends and needs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to educate, cross sell, and up sell coverages, recommend changes to insured for enhanced protection, while ensuring that Profit Center Minimum Standards are being met.
  • Set up and maintain electronic file information in the Agency Management System including data entry and client & policy database maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of communication pertaining to client’s insurance program.
  • Review accounts handled for adequate coverage.
  • Process change requests and other coverage research issues
  • Process ICRs and/or SBQs in compliance with Brown & Brown protocol
  • Check policy coverage and endorsements for accuracy.
  • Assume full responsibility for service and administration of client accounts.
  • Assist CL Leader/Operations Leader with special projects as needed.
  • Assist with training of Select teammates.
  • Transact Agency Billed Policy in timely fashion adhering to Brown & Brown protocol.
  • Review Aged Receivables, follow up on collection of premium payments, and assist the accounting department in reconciliation of company and client accounts.
  • Follow established guidelines for workflow and system documentation.
  • Consistently meet all Brown & Brown established Quality Control Practices and Timelines

RELEVANT SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical and other complex documents.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence such as letters and memos.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Current Washington State Insurance License and appropriate Non-Resident Licenses
  • 5-7 years of recent agency experience handling the service of multi-line commercial lines book of business
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of carrier websites (Preferred)
  • Professional designation (ACSR, CIC, CPCU, CISR) (Preferred)
  • Experience with Agency Management Software Systems (Preferred)
  • This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle.  If appropriate, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages will be a requirement of this position.

$70-$85K DOE
