About the role

Parker is in search of someone to join our robust underwriting team here at Parker. You’ll be joining a team with deep e-commerce and commercial cards underwriting expertise, with backgrounds at Flexport, Wayflyer, Yardline, and American Express. 

What you’ll do

  • Complete financial analysis, assign risk tiers and spend limits for new applicants and existing portfolio companies.
  • Identify and drive forward opportunities to automate underwriting.
  • Discover weaknesses in credit policy and propose alternatives.
  • Develop new data sources to enhance underwriting accuracy and risk mitigation. 
  • Collaborate closely with sales, customer support, product, and risk operations teams.

Who you are

  • 2+ years total experience underwriting in SMB credit, ideally at a fintech but also entrepreneurial folks at larger institutions could be a fit.
  • Strong understanding of business credit fundamentals, financial statements, etc.
  • Desire for a steep career trajectory; venture backed startups are an accelerated, sometimes difficult career path that you should be aware of and excited about.
  • Systems-oriented: Your first instinct is to apply systems, logic, and automation to unsolved problems
  • Growth mindset
  • Strong communicator who can articulate your ideas clearly, and make difficult decisions. People should like you.

Nice to haves

  • Knowledge of e-commerce business fundamentals and e-commerce risk management best practices
  • Beginner SQL skills, interest in learning more

Compensation

  • Range: $90,000-$105,000
