LOCATION: Remote (USA Only)

COMPENSATION: $60K-$65K

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Billing our customers flawlessly and collecting payments timely is the goal. The Collections Specialist II is responsible for effective management, analysis, and resolution of outstanding accounts and accurate processing Sales and Use tax filings. This is a cross-functional office team member within the department, who is cross-trained to aid others in Accounts Receivable, as well as train and lead those assisting with collections.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervision and training of those enlisted to assist in collections

• Bi-weekly reporting to Managing Directors on performance related to collections and accounts receivable, seeking assistance when needed

• Perform daily collections efforts to keep DSO within desired range

• Maintain or improve ineligibles as a percentage of sales based on seasonality

• Achievement of Quarterly Metrics targets based off revenue forecasts

• Preparing and gathering metrics data for team reporting

• Maintenance and weekly update to the Meteor Showers report showing customer balances and payments expected with updated, relevant notes

• Perform job and customer reconciliations as required

• Perform payment resolution and problem-solving tasks on a regular basis

• Email collections actions and customer statements

• Capable of verifying and releasing (post) invoices to our accounting system

• Capable of creating special invoicing as necessary

• Process Sales and Use Tax filings monthly

• Capable of updating the checkbook

• Processing of the un-booked sales report (UBR)

• Capable of participating in collateral and financial statement audits

• Cross functional training and assistance as needed

• Daily team collaboration with internal and external customers

Requirements

• An associate degree from a college or university with a major in accounting or comparable training and/or experience

• Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, methods, and practices

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and Outlook

• Previous invoicing and/or collections experience; high volume performance preferred

• Requires strong analytical/critical thinking skills

• Ability to prepare clear and concise reports

• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high quality of work

• Ability to work independently

• Possess strong time-management skills and the ability to appropriately prioritize

• Ability to manage a variety of activities and functions simultaneously

• Requires strong customer service skills with the ability to promptly respond to requests and effectively manage difficult situations in a professional manner

NOTE: All Meteor new hires are expected to attend an in-person cultural orientation (approx. 1 week) which requires travel to our home office in Gainesville, FL. Employees may also be required to travel and attend annual company meetings and events. All business-related travel expenses will be paid for by Meteor per our company travel and expense policy.
