The Coalition to Counter online Antisemitism (CCOA) 

The Coalition to Counter Online Antisemitism (CCOA) is a collaborative initiative aimed at bringing together diverse stakeholders to address the rise of online antisemitism. Through its initial phase, the project has built a strong network of civil society organizations, policymakers, and other key actors across Europe to combat hate speech and antisemitism online. The project is now entering a new phase, CCOA 2.0 (2025-2026), which will expand its efforts and introduce new strategies to tackle the evolving challenges of online hate. Role Overview: We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee to support the CCOA project. As a trainee, you will work 4 days per week, focusing on a variety of tasks such as project management, communication, and social media. This is a great chance to get hands-on experience with a major international project, gain insight into its objectives, and understand the broader context of online antisemitism. 

 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Project Support: Assist with administrative tasks, project management, and coordination of team activities. 

  • Research, Education and Policy Assistance: Help gather background information on current developments, interventions and policy frameworks related to online hate speech and antisemitism. 

  • Communication & Social Media: Support the creation and distribution of digital content, including social media posts, press releases, and updates to engage stakeholders. 

  • Event and Workshop Assistance: Contribute to the preparation of meetings, events, and workshops related to the project. 

  • Training Support: Help develop materials and assist in organizing training sessions for different stakeholders. 

 

What You Will Learn: 

  • Gain exposure to the structure and objectives of the CCOA project, which connects civil society organizations, policymakers, and other key stakeholders to combat online antisemitism. 

  • Learn about ISD's three core workstreams: Analysis, Policy, and Action, and how they interconnect to create a holistic approach to tackling online hate. 

  • Get a comprehensive introduction to the global context of online antisemitism, including the challenges and opportunities it presents. 

 

Location: 

  • Germany-based (Berlin office, remote, or hybrid). Please note, attendance is required for key team meetings in the office. 

 

Hours and Compensation*:

  • The position is for 4 - 5 days per week (approximately 32 - 40 hours per week). 

  • Compensation: up to €2,600 gross per month. 

*Contract award is subject to budget availability. More information shared during interview.

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Enrolment in a University or College, preferably a mandatory internship program. 

  • Ability to work for a minimum of 3 months, and up to 6 months. 

  • Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken). 

  • Availability between March and September 2025.
