As the Clinical Specialist Manager, you will be responsible for the performance & achievement of target performance levels for Advice, Rework, SREL (Special Rules End of Life) reporting to the Head of Service Delivery.  The Clinical Specialist Manager is the single point of accountability for delivery of volume and quality within their team.  The CSM will work collaboratively with the Head of Service Delivery and support services facilitating a smooth running and delivery of the Clinical Advice line & DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) authority line. 

 

Reporting directly into the Head of Service Delivery within Clinical Operations, you will have line management responsibility of the Clinical Enquiry Advisor functional assessors.
 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the volumes, quality, and applicable service levels are delivered to agreed target levels.
  • Deliver team objectives and performance against targets through robust performance management methods.
  • Monitor high level administrative workflow to ensure administrative teams have all processes in place to ensure assessment delivery.
  • Work with Head of Service Delivery to drive continuous improvement and disseminate though team.
  • Communicate changes in assessment procedures and best practices (healthcare-based and administrative)
  • Ensure the team have in place appropriate healthcare-related mentorship and coaching to support delivery of quality targets.
  • Ensure the team follow appropriate processes to escalate clinical questions and communicate resolution.
  • Support the continuous professional development of staff and encourage shared learning
  • Responsible for effectively and proactively managing absences to minimise ad hoc and ongoing absence.

 

What you’ll need to do the role:
 

  • Relevant experience in PIP/WCA
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Experience of delivering challenging performance targets
  • Desirable to have experience leading a team.
