Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct PASRR Level I screenings and PASRR Level II evaluations to deliver comprehensive, person-centered determinations that align with federal, state, and contractual standards.
  • Perform timely and precise clinical assessments by reviewing relevant patient records, staff evaluations, and conducting interviews with collateral sources, in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • Thoroughly evaluate whether individuals meet established criteria for Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Intellectual Disability, or Other Related Conditions (ID/RC) based on rigorous federal, state, and contractual guidelines.
  • Ensure the accurate completion of PASRR reviews by assessing the patient’s physical, behavioral, and psychological functioning, as well as their medical, behavioral health, and social histories, to determine the appropriate level of care.
  • Maintain strict adherence to required workflow timelines, including re-reviewing records as necessary, incorporating feedback from the Clinical Director, Quality Manager, and Medical Director.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, conduct case consultations, peer reviews, and internal audits as assigned to promote team collaboration and quality assurance.
  • Stay informed on current literature, regulations, and research related to long-term care, mental health, intellectual disabilities, medical conditions, and geriatrics to ensure evidence-based practice.

The list of accountabilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties that management may deem necessary.

Required Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in assessing and diagnosing individuals with mental and psychiatric disorders, including managing complex differential diagnoses involving substance use, medical conditions, cognitive impairments, and dementia.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or related conditions.
  • Holds an active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Nurse Practitioner, or another qualified Mental Health Professional/Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional.
  • A degree from an accredited college in a relevant field of study.
  • Experience working with the geriatric population is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders as defined by the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in use in Florida.
  • Capable of developing Level of Care recommendations based on clinical evaluations, with a good familiarity with standards of practice for determining appropriate Levels of Care.
  • Strong understanding of standards of practice related to mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and other disorders typically requiring long-term care services and supports.
  • Knowledge and understanding of public sector services and support systems.
  • Proficient understanding of Federal Regulation 42 CFR, Chapter 483.
  • Proven ability to establish clinical diagnoses that account for psychological and behavioral issues.
  • Effective at interacting with office staff to support workflow and operational needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with healthcare professionals, patients, families, and support networks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information to individuals and groups through spoken, written, and electronic formats.
  • Proficient in assessing and analyzing psychological, emotional, behavioral, and physical functioning.
  • Skilled in using computer equipment and web-based software to complete assigned tasks.
  • Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks within deadlines.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is $70,000 to $76,000 base salary.

Based on our compensation program, an applicant’s position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
