The Clinical Pharmacist, FEP plays a pivotal role in shaping our FEP clinical pharmacy programs that ensure the use of clinically appropriate and cost-effective medications. By conducting thorough research and data analysis, the incumbent provides valuable recommendations to Pharmacy leadership and assists in the implementation and administration of these programs. This role supports drug utilization management strategies across various departments, including Pharmacy, Medical Services, Care Management, Case Management, Disease Management, and HEDIS Clinical Quality measures.
What you’ll do:
- Champion medical management and clinical pharmacy initiatives for FEP through meticulous research, analysis, and administration of clinical drug utilization management programs.
- Provide expert clinical drug utilization management, formulary management, and business support to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the administration of Pharmacy Prior Authorization and other clinical pharmacy programs.
- Develop and deliver clinical drug information support to stakeholders across the company by writing, researching clinical cases, and creating standard care algorithms to convey key pharmacy messages.
- Perform drug/medication therapy management services to support the management of drug utilization on the medical benefit, including case and disease management.
- Collaborate with medical services staff to identify and resolve drug-related issues, optimizing medication therapy and improving clinical outcomes.
- Assist case managers in identifying and eliminating barriers to care, providing Personal Medication Lists (PML) through comprehensive medication reconciliation, patient-specific Medication Action Plans (MAP), and written/verbal communication and feedback to healthcare providers.
