Climate Resilience Consultant

This position is for a hybrid position (2 days per week in office) in Washington DC (Arlington). A fully remote option could be considered for the right candidate.

ICF is an industry leader in supporting government and private sector clients in understanding their risks from climate change and developing solutions to increase their resiliency. ICF is hiring a manager-level position to support our clients in enhancing their infrastructure climate change resiliency.  This position will work in a larger team to help steer projects to meet the ultimate goals of our clients.  The successful hire will be responsible for overseeing junior staff, interacting with clients, managing budgets, and ensuring exceptional services and products for our clients.

Are you ready for challenging but rewarding work?  Collaborate with our team on projects that include:  

  • Conducting state-level or regional vulnerability and/or risk assessments.

  • Conducting vulnerability assessments of municipal infrastructure and developing adaptation plans. This may include mainstreaming resilience into their processes like their capital improvement planning process or developing adaptation pathways.

  • Developing federal guidebooks on how to incorporate climate resilience into day-to-day work.

  • Helping public agencies build the business case for investing in resilience.

  • Creating climate resilience design guidelines to guide infrastructure project development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years of experience in climate change or resilience topics, conducting system-level risk and vulnerability assessments, overseeing or mentoring staff, and/or managing tasks or projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in climate change or resilience topics, conducting system-level risk and vulnerability assessments, overseeing or mentoring staff, and/or managing tasks or projects.

  • Comfort working with Microsoft Excel, GIS, R, and/or Python.

  • Experience developing climate adaptation and resiliency plans.

  • Experience developing project schedules and tracking project financials.

Additional Skills:

  • The ability to understand the bigger picture goals of a project and then break down the work into logical and manageable steps.

  • Comfort working with data and scientific information.

  • Excellent communication skills, including to be able to synthesize detailed and complex information, identify salient points, and explain it in clear language.

  • Experience facilitating efficient and effective meetings.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$92,986.00 - $158,076.00
