Position Summary

The Deputy Director will be a critical link between the ICF Climate Center team and U.S.-based technical staff, market leads, and business leads across the company working on climate change. 

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with business, market, and technical leads in each line of business to provide a bridge between the Climate Center marketing and technical focus areas/content in the lines of business

  • Collaboratively design workplan and set out milestones, key performance indicators, and thematic priorities

  • Support quarterly updates to a broader steering committee of ICF executives.

  • Promote the Center’s brand, insights and activities to media, clients and industry groups, and in doing so build awareness and understanding of ICF’s capabilities and strengths in the climate, environment, energy and policy arenas.

  • Work with the Climate Center Executive Director and Marketing team to help ICF and its clients develop points of view on key policies, regulations, and technological advances in the climate arena.

  • Serve as the point of contact to connect leads generated by Climate Center activities to the appropriate U.S.-based market or account leads within the lines of business.

  • Organize regular meetings to ensure Climate Center activities are in line with the pipeline and support U.S.-based business development needs.

  • Coordinate the Climate Center summer internships program.

Please note: US based role and applicant must be able to participate on regular calls between 8 am and 1 pm Eastern US to accommodate key US and European markets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree, Law and/or Advanced Management

  • 8+ years’ experience engaging professionally on climate-related topics; these include greenhouse gas mitigation, climate adaptation, climate change science, decarbonization pathways, clean energy, and clean transportation.

  • Experience in managing or supporting corporate sustainability activities, including ESG reporting, climate risk disclosure, purchasing RECs and offsets, GHG target setting, and development of plans to reduce GHG emissions.

  • Experience in coordinating and effectively driving outcomes through a combination of authority and influence across functions or disciplines in an organization.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 12+ years’ experience engaging professionally on climate-related topics; these may include greenhouse gas mitigation, climate adaptation, climate change science, decarbonization pathways, clean energy, and clean transportation.

Professional Skills:

  • Reputation for strong emotional intelligence, critical thinking skills, and integrity.

  • A record of excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Good organization skills, detail orientation, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$92,986.00 - $158,076.00
