Claims Technician - Commercial Auto

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Claims Technician provides support to the commercial auto claims team in a variety of ways, including preparing correspondence, processing payment requests, sending letters, and assisting with calls related to claims, among other tasks.  Will report to Commercial Auto Supervisor. 

Job Responsibilities

Duties are not limited to the below and may expand over time.

• Prepare forms and letters
• Request medical bills and records
• Process glass only payments
• Process payment requests
• Order Police Reports
• Assign claims and open new features
• Assist with taking recorded statements
• Run VIN searches
• Run carrier searches
• Set up rentals
• Send releases and follow up
• Other duties on an as needed basis

Performance Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Must have excellent organizational and time management skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting assigned deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to speak and write knowledgably with internal and external clients
• Proficient in MS Word, One Note, Outlook and Excel
• Ability to thrive in a remote environment

Education:

• High School diploma (Associate’s Degree preferred)

Experience

• At least 2 years of office experience.
• Preferred: Adjuster’s license
• Preferred: experience working in insurance

In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith compensation range estimate is being provided.  The salary range for this job is $45,000 to $55,000.  Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
