Selective Insurance is seeking a Claims Supervisor, Property. This is a remote position, but the ideal candidate will reside in either IN or TN.

This position will be the primary claim supervisor for all property losses handled within the specified claims region. The position will monitor and supervise all regional claims personnel handling such losses, providing them with direct oversight, guidance, authority and feedback according to our claims policies, guidelines, practices and procedures. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Supervises, coordinates and monitors property claim activities of a claims region in order to ensure an accurate, quality claim outcome while maintaining high production and performance standards.
  • Schedules and prioritizes the workflow of adjusters to ensure that work is done in a timely fashion, all deadlines are met and claims are resolved expeditiously.
  • Audits procedures and controls to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements. Will provide statistical data to management to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and state regulations.
  • Provides close direction and technical assistance to members of staff and assists them with the disposition of claims with attorneys, insureds and claimants.
  • Reviews completed adjustments for approval or corrections, including highly technical reviews of building estimates and business interruption computation, authorizing payments within authority.
  • Reviews, establishes and/or adjusts claims reserves while identifying and escalating high exposure losses to the Large Loss Unit.
  • Recognizes fraudulent claim activity and components that would be subject to SIU referral in accordance with company guidelines and subsequent referral to law enforcement or regulatory agencies.
  • Reviews and implements quality claim reviews on a continuous basis while providing training, guidance and feedback based on findings.
  • Reviews consumer/agency complaints and assists in the oral and written responses.
  • Maintains a direct diary on serious claims and/or litigated claims and an override diary on other selected claims.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree preferred
  • 3 -5 years property claims experience
  • 3+ years supervisory experience of technical level staff preferred
  • 5 years of experience handling and/or managing property claims
  • Excellent technical and coverage knowledge with at least
  • Must have a high aptitude and operational ability in working with Xactimate, XactAnalysis, MS Excel, Word and Outlook and a working knowledge of MS Power Point
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), organizational, interpersonal and customer skills.
  • Provides close mentoring, training and direction to staff
  • Maintains positive experience and relationships with customers and business partners

The salary range for this position is $95,000-$150,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate's qualifications and experience.
