Mesa seeks a Civil / Structural Engineer Associate who will work with other members of the engineering team to deliver projects of varying complexity and size for our fossil and hydro power generation clients.
Daily tasks will include design support for additions and modifications to power generation related structures including:
- Mechanical and electrical equipment supports, racks, foundations, and anchorages
- Pre-engineered metal building foundations
- Steel-framed, concrete, or masonry buildings
- Personnel access platforms, walkways, stairways, etc.
- Retaining walls, lifting and rigging analysis, and lifting component design
Education/Experience/Certification:
- BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience
- EIT Certification is required
Minimum qualifications for this position also include:
- Experience with industry standard structural analysis software (i.e. STAAD, Risa, Enercalc, etc.)
- Experience with calculations using MathCAD, Word, and Excel
- Experience with ACI 318 and anchorage designs
- Experience with 2D AutoCAD drafting and 3D/BIM modeling Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IBC, CBC, ASCE7, AISC 360, AISC 341, ACI 318, etc.)
- Seismic design experience with concrete and steel.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Well organized and self-motivated to complete tasks within agreed to schedules
- Adherence to Mesa quality program, creative thinking, and ability to judge between alternate solutions to provide the optimal solution
