Job Summary:The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Civil Litigation Division/Division of Civil Rights Section is seeking a Compliance Manager to be responsible for the direct supervision of the Tucson Compliance Officers and Division support staff in connection with compliance functions such as intake, investigations, and outreach projects.
Remote Options: This position may be eligible for Remote Work two days a week.
Job Duties:
This position will review and analyze policies and procedures, assist with the development of goals and objectives of the Division, and ensure that the Compliance Officers adhere to, and comply with, Division, federal agency, statutory and administrative deadlines, rules, and limitation periods applicable to case investigations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge needed:
• Knowledge of state and federal civil rights laws pertaining to matters within the Division’s jurisdiction, including employment, housing, public accommodations, and voting discrimination.
• Knowledge of AGO and Division policies and procedures and applicable federal agency guidelines and procedures.
• Knowledge of the legal system, administrative policies and procedures, and investigation of discrimination cases.
• Knowledge of case management, including planning investigations, conducting witness interviews and gathering documentary evidence, and preservation of documentary, physical and testimonial evidence.
• Knowledge of effective management techniques.
Skills needed:
• Written communication skills necessary to draft correspondence, discovery, investigative reports and memoranda, in a detailed, organized and professional manner.
• Listening and oral communication skills to communicate clearly with the public and parties who contact the Division. Foreign language skill, especially Spanish, preferred in order to serve the large number of monolingual Spanish speakers that seek services from the Division.
• Skilled in identifying, tracking, and adhering to applicable administrative, statutory, Division and federal agency regulations, guidelines and deadlines.
• Skilled in applying knowledge of the laws enforced by the Division to the facts of a particular case and conducting analysis to determine appropriate investigative steps and outcome.
• Skilled in developing interpersonal relationships to function in a supervisory position that requires counseling, guiding, and motivating Compliance Officers and support staff.
