Civil 3D Designer (Mostly Remote)

Salary: $90,000 - 110,000/yearThis position is remote / work from home, but requires one on site meeting per month in Frederick, MD.We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Civil Designer with experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and the ability to develop and prepare detailed drawings, plans, and designs for infrastructure projects, including roads, grading, utilities, drainage, and more.This role will require close collaboration with engineers and other design professionals to produce high-quality and accurate civil engineering plans that meet project specifications and codes.

Responsibilities

• Design & Drafting: Create, modify, and maintain civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for a variety of infrastructure projects such as roadways, drainage systems, grading, and utilities.
• Collaborate with Engineers: Work closely with engineers to understand project requirements, provide drafting support, and ensure designs comply with engineering standards and codes.
• Prepare Plans: Produce detailed construction plans, profiles, cross-sections, and site layouts.
• Modeling & Analysis: Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop surface models, grading plans, and alignments for civil engineering projects.
• Survey Data Integration: Incorporate survey data into Civil 3D models to support design processes.
• Quality Control: Review and verify the accuracy of designs and calculations to ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate project records and documentation, ensuring the timely completion of project deliverables.
• Project Support: Provide ongoing design support throughout the lifecycle of projects, from conceptual design through to construction.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Civil Designer or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and drafting tasks.
• Experience in designing civil infrastructure, such as roads, grading, drainage systems, and utilities.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, including site grading, drainage design, and utility systems.
• Ability to interpret survey data and other design documents.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and other related software.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with project teams effectively.
