The DES, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Child Support Services Debts Case Manager (CSS Officer 2) with the Specialized Debts Region. This position is responsible for interpreting and applying information for the purpose of correctly calculating and distributing child support for current support, support arrearages, and reimbursement of monies expended.

Job Duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review/analyze legal documents and complex fiscal management data.
- Apply complex policy and procedural rules to determine apportionment of obligations owed.
- Research information on available databases to ensure the accuracy of court order information and pay records.
- Review cases for modification to the child support order.
- Research and gather information from case files.
- Communicate with clients, absent parents, employers, mortgage companies, attorneys, and governmental agencies to obtain information necessary for court or administrative action.
- Determine appropriate action required to facilitate the accurate distribution of monies.
Knowledge in:
- Strong understanding of case management principles and techniques.
- General working knowledge of legal documents and procedures; court and legal system processes.
Skills in:
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Experience maintaining and organizing a high-volume caseload.
- Performing complex mathematical calculations.
- Experience collecting or recovering expenses, repayment, fees, or obligations.
- Proficient in computer software applications, i.e. Microsoft Office applications and Google tools.
- Proficient in automated information and case management systems.
- Use of interviewing techniques to obtain information.
Ability to:
- Learn automated systems, the Arizona Child Support Services case management system, manual and automated enforcement tools, and interfacing databases.
- Multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.
- Meet performance measures and data reliability goals.
- Be flexible and reliable in a team setting.
- Be analytical, detail-oriented, and ‘think outside the box’.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- One-year experience as a Child Support Services Officer I in Arizona State Service or the equivalent in another jurisdiction. Any combination of training and experience that meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) may be substituted.
- Investigative research and analytical ability; court order interpretation; financial terminology interpretation; case management, while being able to work in a diverse team-oriented work environment.
- If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
- Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Retirement:State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
