As the Chief Medical Officer, you are responsible for shaping and leading Omada’s clinical strategy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across programs in Diabetes, Hypertension, Diabetes Prevention, Musculoskeletal, and Behavioral Health and developing the clinical care approach for all future programs. You will oversee clinical quality, safety, and innovation, while fostering collaboration between care teams, product development, and engineering to enhance patient outcomes. You will lead a multidisciplinary clinical organization and guide the integration of technology and behavioral science to optimize care delivery at scale. This role is highly cross-functional and requires leadership and effective collaboration/influence across clinical quality, product development, and care delivery to support Omada’s double-digit growth. As a key member of the Operating Team and Executive Leadership Team, you will help set the vision for clinical excellence and innovation in virtual chronic care.

As the Chief Medical Officer, your role will be instrumental in guiding Omada’s clinical strategy, ensuring that care delivery is not only evidence-based but also personalized, equitable, and scalable at the total and sub-population level.
This role is inherently cross-functional, requiring close collaboration with Product, Clinical, Care Delivery, Commercial, Engineering, and Data Science teams. Together, you’ll identify, assess, and address gaps in clinical quality, safety, proof and evidence, and experience while developing the roadmap for future investments, initiatives, and studies. Whether through organic growth, partnerships, or new innovations, you will spearhead efforts to strengthen Omada’s position as a care quality leader in the virtual health space.
As the CMO, your responsibilities include:
Leading the development and implementation of clinical protocols, pathways, and guidelines to drive measurable improvements in outcomes and experiences.Ensuring that care quality is deeply embedded in Omada’s culture and operations, from frontline care teams to product development.
- Overseeing clinical research planning and implementation including publications, data analysis, and outcomes.
Building and mentoring a multidisciplinary clinical team passionate about developing and delivering care that transforms lives.Advocating for the integration of behavioral science, data analytics, and technology to create personalized, patient-centered care models.Representing Omada as a thought leader in the healthcare industry, influencing policy, practice, and innovation.

Required Skills:
Medical Degree and Advanced Credentials:
MD degree required; advanced degrees such as MPH, MBA, or MHA desirable but not required. Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., internal medicine, family medicine, endocrinology, obesity care, or other related fields to cardiovascular or cardiometabolic health) are required.
Quality Improvement Expertise:
Strong analytical and insight-driven problem-solving skills, with experience implementing clinical quality initiatives that enhance patient safety, outcomes, and satisfaction. Proven ability to use data and evidence-based practices to address challenges and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Strategic Leadership and Vision:
At least 5 years in a strategic leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth, and mission-driven organization. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute innovative clinical strategies that align with business objectives and drive growth while maintaining clinical excellence.
Clinical Leadership Experience:
A seasoned, respected clinical leader with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in healthcare delivery, clinical operations, or health services management, including leading multidisciplinary teams in complex and dynamic environments. Proven ability to scale clinical care models and improve outcomes in a rapidly growing organization.
Future-Focused Innovator:
Demonstrated ability to anticipate healthcare trends and integrate them into both short- and long-term organizational plans. Experience in leveraging emerging technologies, behavioral science, and advanced analytics to redesign care delivery and improve health outcomes.
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Collaborative Leadership:
A high level of emotional intelligence as evidenced by the ability to understand, motivate, influence, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Proven track record of resilience, empathy, active listening, and navigating complex challenges in a collaborative manner to achieve desired outcomes. Self-aware, curious, and adaptable.
Broad Healthcare and Business Acumen:
Deep understanding of healthcare management, including finance, operations, quality assurance, technology, compliance, and population health. Experience working within value-based care models and integrating clinical and financial goals to drive sustainable success.
Proven Track Record in Results and Accountability:
Demonstrated success in exceeding organizational goals through strategic decision-making, sound judgment, and operational excellence. Evidence of strong budget management skills and resource allocation to maximize outcomes while managing risk.
Exceptional Team Leadership and Development:
Experience building and leading high-performing clinical teams. A team builder who can empower leaders, enforce accountability, and create an environment that fosters entrepreneurship and innovation. Skilled at recognizing and leveraging the strengths of team members to maximize their potential and contributions.

Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and challenge across a matrixed organization. Strong relationship-building skills at all levels, including external stakeholders such as payers, providers, and commercial clients.

Base Compensation Range for this role: $312,400 - $390,500*. This role is also eligible for participation in annual cash bonus and equity grants.
