Thanks for your interest in Oklo! We are searching for a Chemical Engineer to join our fuel recycling engineering team.

Position Description:

The person in this role is responsible for conducting design, development, prototyping, and validation work on key chemical separation subsystems for Oklo’s fuel recycling facility. These subsystems may include off-gas separation, and waste immobilization. It will include collaboration with cross-functional teams including those with a focus on facility design, unit process equipment design, safety analysis, and licensing.

This position could alternatively be fulfilled by someone with experience and/or education in radiochemistry or process engineering.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Evaluate existing technologies in the national lab and commercial space
  • Develop systems that meet facility and regulatory requirements
  • Define system and unit process requirements and validation methodologies
  • Establish performance criteria, test protocols, and test equipment
  • Develop technical parameters, deploy, and operate a test bed to use in refining subsystem design and operation
  • Develop process flow sheets and heat and material balances with process simulation tools
  • Generate documentation guiding the fabrication, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of subsystems
  • Serve as subsystem technical lead through multiple lifecycle stages
  • Generate technical documentation to be included in regulatory filings

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience using AspenTech, ChemCAD, Promax, etc., for process and equipment design
  • Experience utilizing sorbents for gas capture
  • Experience deploying or working on pilot plants
  • Commercial or governmental nuclear industry experience

About Oklo compensation:

Salary: $75,000-$170,000
