Job Duties: This is advanced accounting and accounting-related work in maintaining financial records and providing financial information for district and appellate courts.
Work involves maintaining a significant part of a court accounting system. Work will include the following: receipt of court payments, daily and month-end balancing for statewide payment center, collection notices sent to parties, 30-day overdue/noncompliance letters, responses to a high volume of calls from the public about payments of fines, fees, restitution, judgments, other financial related matters, and troubleshooting financial issues for judicial branch employees statewide. The work may also include performing specialized accounting tasks that follow established GAAP procedures. Work also includes training Judicial Branch employees across the state with all court financial procedures and processes. Work is performed independently within established policies and procedures and is reviewed by leaders primarily through periodic audits and verification of financial records and statements.

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by courses in bookkeeping or three or more years of bookkeeping experience. Experience working in the Kansas Judicial Branch is preferred but not required.
