The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing our cash flow processes. In this position, you will be responsible for accurately applying incoming payments, ensuring timely and precise financial transactions that support our business's success. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining strong financial control and enhancing our customer relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately apply incoming payments to customer accounts and invoices.
  • Reconcile cash receipts and perform daily balancing of cash transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to cash applications.
  • Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain detailed records of all cash application activities and adjustments.
  • Communicate with customers and internal departments to resolve payment issues.
  • Monitor and follow up on unapplied cash and unidentified payments.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations for cash transactions.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cash applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of financial procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with electronic payment processing and reconciliation.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and processes.

Qualifications - Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cash applications or accounts receivable preferred.
Shift Days: Monday through FridayShift Hours: 8am - 5pm (Available to work extra hours, weekends, and holidays preferred.)Pay Rate: $20-$22 per hour (Dependent upon experience level.)Travel Requirement: on occasion as needed
