What’s in Store
We're on the lookout for a Case Management Assistant to join our growing team! As a Case Management Assistant, you will coordinate and facilitate processes with medical providers to return injured employees to work as soon as medically indicated. You will also assist the Case Manager with various duties for Workers’ Compensation medical cases to facilitate and expedite medical care to the injured worker while identifying issues that will require the Case Manager’s attention.
Other duties include:
- Make initial contacts with the injured worker, employer, provider, etc., after receipt of the First Report of Injury to obtain necessary information relevant to the claim
- Identify and complete the daily tasks related to the medical management of a Workers’ Compensation claim under the direction of the telephonic case-manager
- Schedule medical appointments
- Obtain records
- Call and obtain work status from provider and/or client
- Handle correspondence, letters, and mail on behalf of the Case Manager
- Document notes in system file and track with computerized system
- Work diary as assigned; keep diary up to date
- Create, edit and/or revise correspondence, as requested
- Copy, scan and organize documentation as necessary
- Perform other duties as needed
This role is a full-time, remote position.
Your Expertise, Skills, and Abilities
- A minimum of one year of medical terminology and/or medical office experience
- Possess working knowledge of appropriate state’s Workers’ Compensation system and the statutes
- Previous experience working with medical provider offices
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proactive, independent, and takes initiative with consistent follow through
- Superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner
- Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines
- Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Excellent team player with interpersonal skills
- High level attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
- Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
- Display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization
