Career Coach (Contractor)

At Mimo, we believe that coding can open doors to careers and opportunities like few other skills can. We aim to provide the most accessible and enjoyable way to learn to code while providing our learners with the tools to become professional software developers.

We’re looking for a Career Coach to work with our curriculum team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll help our learners prepare for the challenges of a career in software development. Using provided material, you'll lead regular live sessions, offering guidance on career strategies, personal branding, and navigating the job market within the tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct online career coaching sessions on the unique challenges of the tech industry through Zoom.
• Offer actionable advice on job searching, resume building, interviewing, and career growth in software development.
• Deliver the same session twice per week: once in the morning and once in the evening (US times) to accommodate different schedules.
• Work collaboratively with our curriculum team to align session topics with the needs of our learners.

Requirements

• Availability weekdays at 1-2 pm and 8-9 pm Eastern Time (5-6 pm and 12-1 am UTC).
• Native English speaker or equivalent proficiency.
• Experience using Zoom for online coaching sessions.
• Exceptional communication and rhetorical skills, captivating and engaging an audience.
• Proven experience as a teacher, coach, or mentor, particularly in the coding or tech industry.
• A background in coding or significant experience supporting developers in their career journeys.

Compensation

• $150 per 1-hour session, which may need some preparation from time to time.

Additional Information

• We are open to hiring multiple career coaches to cover different time slots and topics.
• Our learners will evaluate sessions through surveys to determine their effectiveness, and based on feedback, there will be opportunities for continued engagement.
