• This position will pay between $21.70 - $26.60/hr based on experience

The Cancer Registry Specialist captures a complete summary of the history, diagnosis, treatment, and disease status for every cancer patient. The Specialists work leads to better information that is used in the management of cancer, and ultimately, cures.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with epidemiological, behavioral, or medical research by abstracting cancer data for analysis by the local and state level.
• Responsible for coding all reportable malignant and non-malignant diseases for facilities utilizing the appropriate coding manuals and guidelines per state and accreditation standards.
• This role performs case finding on an as needed basis.
• Performs follow-up function to assure registry maintains at a minimum follow-up rates.

Experience We Love:

• 1-3 years of experience in similar role
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Good organizational and follow-through skills
• Ability to multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions

Minimum Education:

• Associates Degree

Required Certifications: 

• Oncology Data Specialist Certification or completion within 3 years of hire
