CareRev is seeking a Business Systems Lead to define and deliver all ongoing system enhancements and projects. This player-coach role requires both leadership and a level of system architecture expertise, without direct people management responsibilities. In this startup environment, you will drive strategy and procurement of new solutions to enhance operational efficiency. A curious and go-getter mindset is essential as you solicit requirements, build innovative solutions to support internal teams, develop requirements, craft user stories, and document processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Autonomous Work: Operate with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision on projects of varying complexity.
  • Requirement Translation: Convert business requirements into detailed functional requirements and document business needs, functional specifications, and process flows.
  • Process Improvement: As an expert in business processes, drive process improvements through business system design and implementation. Analyze current processes and workflows to identify areas for enhancement, reduce costs, and improve user experience.
  • Process Automation: Identify opportunities for automation and collaborate with IT and Finance teams to implement streamlined solutions within budget.
  • Data Migration: Oversee data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during system transitions.
  • System Adoption: Support end users in adopting new systems and collaborate with development teams to refine and elaborate on requirements throughout the development life cycle.
  • Sprint Facilitation: Facilitate all sprint planning events and backlog grooming.
  • Change Monitoring: Monitor newly implemented changes and provide support for operational incidents related to product changes.
  • System Recommendations: Maintain an understanding of related systems to recommend company-wide system and process improvements.
  • Coordination: Ensure proper prioritization and awareness across user groups and other projects.
  • Process Evaluation: Develop process flows, mockups, and diagrams to evaluate approaches and secure end-user adoption.
  • User Stories: Write user stories, facilitate refinement, estimation, and planning for execution by technical operational teams. Collaborate with Product to ensure operational workflows support the CareRev product with high efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Feedback Collection: Run demos and gather feedback.
  • Testing: Perform testing of new functionality and manage end-user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Backlog Prioritization: Prioritize backlogs of feature requests from the business.
  • Project Management: Create project plans for complex projects, monitor progress and timelines, and keep the business informed and updated.
  • Support: Monitor internal support channels to ensure users receive timely support.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Forge strong relationships with business stakeholders, management, and IT teams to understand business needs, gather detailed requirements, and engage with leadership to ideate, scope, and prioritize projects.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Player-Coach Role: Act as both a hands-on contributor and a leader in system architecture and process improvement.
  • Strategic Vision: Contribute to the strategic vision of business systems, aligning enhancements and projects with overall business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of system solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and goals.
  • Innovation: Champion innovative solutions and best practices in system design and process improvement, driving continuous improvement across the organization.

What we’re looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience working in or leading a business systems team.
  • Proficient in business analysis tools, database management, SQL, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong skills in business analysis, requirements management, and problem-solving.
  • Experience working in rapidly changing environments with diverse stakeholders, including developing requirements for moderately to highly complex projects. 
  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders and effectively elicit their requirements for complex projects.
  • Ability to devise solutions for complex projects and operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Capable of managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience in developing requirements for moderately to highly complex projects.
  • Strong customer focus and understanding of operational systems and end-user needs.
  • Skills in change management with the ability to react quickly and delegate.
  • Experience collaborating with business leaders to drive decisions/actions in cross-functional settings.
  • Previous experience in high-growth startups and/or healthcare or healthcare staffing environments is highly desirable.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $124,476 - $169,625. Equity, bonus or commission and benefits may also be provided as part of the total compensation package, depending on the position offered. If given an offer, the exact salary amount offered will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience, education and other qualifications as well as the candidate's location of residence.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk
