About the Role

We are looking for a Business Manager to join our team and build out the finance support function for Rocket Lawyer's Growth team, which is responsible for GTM strategies and execution. This is a new position, and the right candidate will be enthusiastic about leveraging best-in-class principles acquired through experience at fast-paced SaaS or ecommerce companies and applying those lessons at Rocket Lawyer. 

You will be reporting to the VP of Finance and working closely with the Chief Growth Officer, VP of Product Marketing, VP of Content Marketing, Director of Performance marketing and various C-Suite executives as needed to build out the function and fulfill the daily responsibilities of the role. Your support will help Rocket Lawyer advance key areas of customer growth by unlocking insights and assisting business stakeholders in making key decisions. 

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to VP Finance and supporting the Growth organization responsible for acquisition, activation, add-on sales and retention for all of RL’s global businesses 
  • Deliver the weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc summaries of critical business growth drivers across marketing, sales, partner, product functions—for the US and International businesses 
  • In partnership with Growth and related functional leaders, proactively highlight opportunities and challenges in the trends and communicate actionable insights (wins, learnings, opportunities) arising from the data 
  • Create compelling data visualizations to support clear communication of insights and opportunities
  • Support Growth and related functional leaders in new initiative exploration with the development of driver and sensitivity models tied to financial targets
  • Within each re-forecast cycle, ensure alignment of each Growth and related functional leaders forecasts of inputs/outputs with Finance targets to appropriately establish stretch goals aligned with each team’s baseline, priorities and resourcing
  • Advocate and advance data and analytic capabilities to improve needed visibility across the full customer journey and support smarter decision making

Requirements

  • Experience with a PLG SaaS or ecommerce business with understanding of acquisition, activation, addons and retention drivers across the full customer journey—e.g., marketing mix modeling (MMM) across multiple products with self-service and sales-assist motions
  • Excellent analysis skills. Ability to comb through large and sometimes disparate data sources to isolate trends. 
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience. Degree in finance, economics, math or quantitative scientific field preferred
  • Ambitious outlook with a high-energy, positive attitude and willingness to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Responsive and poised communicator that upholds yourself to deadlines and commitments to stakeholders
  • Expert-level knowledge of Excel, e.g., proficient without mouse and INDEX-MATCH usage
  • Produce high-quality work with a comprehensive understanding to confidently address questions from stakeholders
  • Proactive self-starter that can work independently, prioritize multiple work streams and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
