Description :

As a Business Intelligence Developer with Synergy, you will join the team supporting the mission of the Officer of the Chief Information Officer for a Federal government agency. Under the direction of the Synergy Project Manager and Program Technical Lead, the candidate will work with the customer’s Data and Business Intelligence team to create and manage dashboards, reports, and visualizations.

Essential Functions & Duties:

  • Design, develop, deploy, and mange interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and visualizations
  • Capture business requirements and create wireframes based on customer needs
  • Design and implement data models to support business needs
  • Implement data integration best practices to bring together disparate data sources, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and integrity
  • Develop complex queries and data transformations
  • Analyze large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to provide actionable recommendations to support business decisions
  • Integrate data from various sources including SQL databases, Excel spreadsheets, and cloud services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the project manager, data warehouse engineers, plus business and IT stakeholders, to meet business needs
  • Identify and resolve issues related to reports, dashboards, and visualization
  • Provide O&M support and training to end-users as needed
  • Maintain comprehensive and up to date documentation

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

  • Multiple years of experience with the following technologies:
    • Power BI
    • Power Query
    • DAX
    • SQL
  • Experience creating and managing dashboards, reports, and visualizations
  • Experience with data related requirements gathering and documentation
  • Experience with data analysis, data integration, and data visualization activities
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, star schema, and data normalization
  • Ability to work with large data sets and validating accuracy of data
  • Knowledge of the following preferred:
    • Snowflake data warehouse
    • ETL/ELT processes
    • Data integration tools
    • AWS Cloud Services
  • Ability to clearly communicate/present technical issues and status to customers
  • Ability to create project documentation (e.g., SOP) and user guidance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Experience working in an agile environment, coordinating across multiple teams
  • Ability to execute in a remote work environment

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required: US Citizen or US Work Authorization

Preferred Education & Experience: 10 years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $105,000.00 - $130,000.00.
