Position Description

If you are looking for an exciting and challenging career Serco, Inc is seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist to join our dynamic fast-paced Serco Systems Integration and Installation (SI2) Business Development Team to support marketing and growth initiatives. This role will report to the SI2 Vice President for Growth and Business Development.

 

This is primarily full time remote work, with occasional office visits or customer site travel

 

In this role you will:

  • Support the Growth and Business Development Team by assisting with all aspects of business planning to include researching new sources of prospective customers, analyzing the competitive landscape, market trends, customer behaviors, and preparing reports by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Update opportunity management CRM systems or file data as appropriate.
  • Assist with planning and managing trade shows, conferences, events, and internal and external business meetings by identifying, coordinating, and assembling requirements, developing assignments and schedules.
  • Organize and plan promotional presentations.
  • Produce social media in support of organizational exposure.
  • Assist with strategy development by assembling market data, sales forecasts, and assisting with presentation development.
  • Manage a library of business development and marketing material ensuring the material is accurate and current while coordinating new material creation as needed.
  • Track the status of non-disclosure and teaming agreements, budget requests, gate reviews, and action items.
  • Assist opportunity capture and solution teams by supplying requested data during proposal development.
  • Assist with proposal reviews.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • United States Citizenship is required
  • A Bachelors degree
    • Or a High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree with 3 of those years working in the Defense Industry
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with 3 of those years working in the Defense Industry
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the DOD contracting process
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills 
  • Strong Microsoft office skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
    • generating reports, viewing marketing metrics, extracting data, and sharing this information with other team members in project updates

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Customer and Opportunity management software experience a plus
  • Experience with creation of dynamic social media posts a plus

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $75,251.33 to $122,282.49; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
