We are seeking an ambitious and creative individual with strong communication and time-management skills to join our Business Development Representative (BDR) team at ThoughtExchange. As a BDR, you will play a crucial role in driving our company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, building pipelines, and developing valuable relationships with leads. Your efforts will convert high-quality sales conversations into tangible sales opportunities. You will collaborate closely with the Manager, Business Development and Account Executives. The ideal candidate will excel at juggling multiple tasks while remaining accountable to their daily objectives and will be enthusiastic about sharing insights and lessons with the team to enhance overall team performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for business development, which includes prospecting, building, and maintaining impactful relationships with education customers
  • Conduct Outbound Lead generation including researching and approaching new clients through various channels (i.e. email, phone, video messaging, and social outreach with prospects)
  • Qualifying inbound and outbound leads into sales opportunities for Account Executives
  • Demonstrating confidence and tenacity when navigating prospective accounts to connect with the decision-makers
  • Support the nurturing of long-term opportunities and relationships in the sales pipeline
  • Support Marketing initiatives to help grow inbound opportunities and increase company profile and brand awareness
  • Support our Anti-Racism and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ADEI) mandate by (at a minimum) being aware of our ADEI commitment and initiatives and completing all required ADEI training

What we think is true about you:

  • Post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of previous BDR or Sales Development Representative (SDR) work experience, preferably at a SaaS company
  • Experience in lead generation, appointment setting, email content creation, using LinkedIn and social selling
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve internal processes and enhance team capabilities & performance 
  • Driven by personal and team goals, consistently striving to meet and exceed targets
  • Actively pursues personal growth and development, sharing insights and knowledge with the team to enhance the overall performance of the BDR team
  • Demonstrated experience taking initiative and being independent in your work while knowing when to seek guidance and support
  • Capable of juggling multiple tasks throughout the day, prioritizing effectively to meet objectives
  • Able to travel to the USA 4-5 times a year for conferences/ customer events

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the Education, Public Sector and/or Corporate vertical
  • Experience working with Outreach or a similar prospecting tool 
  • Experience attending in-person events such as conferences to generate leads
  • Knowledge of multithreading accounts (developing relationships with multiple decision-makers on the customer side of things)
The hiring range for this role is $55,000.00-$65,000.00 CAD ($68,750.00 - $81,000.00 On-Target Earnings). Your specific compensation within this range is determined based on your job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and our internal equity assessment.
