Business Development Associate, Strategic Pursuits

We are seeking a proactive and self-sufficient Business Development Associate to support the sourcing and assist in the closing of large six-figure ACV (annual contract value) and above employer opportunities for Tapcheck’s financial wellness platform. Reporting directly to the SVP of Strategic Business Development, the role focuses on leveraging partner relationships and industry knowledge to identify, originate, and assist with closing the largest opportunities that Tapcheck is pursuing.

While the Business Development Associate will not directly close deals, they will play a crucial role in facilitating communication, coordinating with internal teams, and providing support that maximizes the potential for successful outcomes. This role offers excellent growth potential, serving as an entry point for career advancement into Account Executive or similar roles within the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Build and manage relationships with intermediaries, centers of influence, and partners to source large employer opportunities.
    • Schedule, recap, and execute follow-ups from meetings, ensuring all action items are completed in a timely manner.
    • Coordinate communications between Channel and Direct Sales teams, assisting in scheduling demos, involving relevant internal and external stakeholders, and maximizing the probability of closing.
    • Leverage partner relationships to identify high-value employer opportunities within target industries.
    • Assist in driving joint sales efforts between Tapcheck and partners, ensuring alignment and collaboration on key accounts.
    • Prepare, as needed and at times with short notice, presentations and supplementary sales assets and enablement collateral to support driving awareness of Tapcheck through these key intermediaries and ultimately drive a consistent stream of large referrals to our Enterprise Sales team.
  • Secondary Responsibilities:
    • Capture and share industry insights to inform internal teams and support product development.
    • Identify demand generation opportunities, including prospect-facing events, webinars, and other activities, to hand off to Partner Marketing for execution.
    • Monitor key metrics, reporting on progress and refining strategies to meet or exceed support targets.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to review and provide insights on sales contracts, ensuring alignment with company goals and maximizing the likelihood of successful deal closures.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of business development or sales experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS or fintech environment, with a focus on large employer or partnership opportunities.
