Business Consultant

This role combines Project Management, Business Analysis, and Consulting to support Billtrust’s solutions and services across our platform. As the primary contact for multiple, simultaneous projects, you will document functional requirements, technical specifications, and template designs while providing expert product knowledge and guidance.

The Business Consultant ensures that all deliverables meet the highest standards, driving client and partner satisfaction. You will manage resources, schedules, and project quality through the full lifecycle (discovery, analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation). You will need to understand both Billtrust’s technical capabilities and client/partner business needs to deliver the best user experience.

Projects typically include providing insights and recommendations during implementations, optimizing existing solutions, and supporting partnerships with product updates. This role may also require travel to client sites and industry trade shows as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to help clients achieve their business goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal Billtrust teams and clients/partners.
  • Assist clients in implementing Billtrust solutions by:
    • Understanding their processes and goals through structured discovery.
    • Recommending best practices for workflow optimization.
    • Designing reports and dashboards to monitor success.
  • Optimize Billtrust solutions for existing users by:
    • Adjusting configurations and workflows to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Identifying gaps and enhancements based on user feedback.
    • Providing advanced training for users and management.
  • Conduct business process workshops, including:
    • Identifying key operational improvements and efficiencies.
    • Training clients on best practices and system utilization.
    • Helping clients develop and document comprehensive policies and procedures.
  • Partner with clients to resolve conflicts or concerns during project execution.
  • Stay up to date on Billtrust products and technical capabilities to perform consulting services effectively.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience managing medium to large-scale technical projects (full lifecycle).
  • Consulting experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to navigate complex situations independently.
  • Proven ability to resolve issues, negotiate effectively, and influence stakeholders.
  • Quick adaptability to organizational structures, product offerings, and configurations.
  • Strong risk and issue management capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Familiarity with the Order-to-Cash process and prior customer-facing roles is a plus.
  • ERP integration experience is a plus.
  • Experience in content creation (blogs, articles, etc.) or public speaking is a plus.

The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000-$112,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.
