Business Analyst, Senior - UX Designer

SR. BUSINESS ANALYST / UX DESIGNER

Works as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems.  Collaborate with technical and business resources to design and plan release cycles. Conduct and report on user experience performance and implement user experience improvements using a variety of UXD techniques. Work with product owners and technical resources to research, track and report on both business and technological trends. Participate in strategic and leadership planning activities. 

Agile Business Analysis Planning & Execution

  • Lead requirements elicitation sessions.
  • Document user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop supporting documentation when applicable including state flow diagrams, data mapping, etc.
  • Work independently and with Product Designers to develop user interface design.
  • Work with technical and QA teams to size and validate user stories.
     

Usability Analysis and User Experience Design

  • Research user needs by leveraging heuristic review, interviews, surveys and user observation.
  • Develop customer journey maps that provide insight into the highest value areas of focus for customer experience.
  • Collaborate with EKM team to develop high-level designs for upcoming solutions across multiple domain areas.
  • Develop and conduct usability testing and analysis to evaluate the user interactions for current applications and future software designs.
  • Define user interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications for proposed solutions.
  • Leverage and contribute to the RSM Design System framework to be used as the basis for UX/UI design.
  • Develop wireframes and working prototypes for current and future software solutions that focus on providing an enjoyable user experience that are compatible with multiple common screen sizes.
  • Collaborate with accessibility team to ensure accessibility standards are considered and included for all user interfaces.

Develop and maintain design guidelines and best practices for the RSM Intranet, a SharePoint-based application.

  • To include the intranet style guide, management of the firm’s organizational asset libraries and the new SharePoint Brand Center.
  • Stay up to date with the latest UX design trends, tools, and technologies, particularly those related to SharePoint and Microsoft 365.

Center of Excellence Support & Process Improvement

  • Ensure BA & UX Center of Excellence Standards are being followed.
  • Promote agile adoption and understanding.
  • Offer team insights and process improvement ideas to center of excellence leaders.

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 

TECHNICAL SKILLS 

  • Proficient in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio 
  • Strong knowledge in MS SharePoint and Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents/Power BI)
  • Ability to analyze and document backend system information such as data mapping and microservice components.
  • Knowledge of defect tracking processes and tools (i.e., UAT)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO JOB 

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and consult effectively with employees at all levels
  • Strong knowledge of basic and advanced business analysis techniques and strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of product design and user experience design concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of the Agile Framework with a focus in Scrum, Scaled Agile, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking ability.
  • Strong communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Ability to prioritize across many projects and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, motivation, and initiative.           

EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum of 5 years of combined business analysis and UX experience working in a development environment
  • Knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise software products are positioned and developed.
  • Experience working with 3rd party and vendor relationships. 
  • Experience with both structured and object-oriented analysis techniques. 
  • Proven experience in operational business process improvement. 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and other tools supporting fact-based decisions. 

MANAGEMENT 

  • Experience leading a team of resources for the coordinated delivery of large or complex projects.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS 

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
  • Financial services or accounting industry experience.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $85,600 - $146,300

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
