Business Analyst

Position Summary
This position is responsible for designing and analyzing business processes necessary to achieve the business goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for providing subject matter expertise on process knowledge, improvement opportunities, and process performance analysis and measurement. Through knowledge of NU systems and consultation the Business Analyst will provide clear and concise documentation to business leaders, I.T. Software Development, and Quality Assurance. A Business Analyst is responsible for UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and to see projects and tasks through the full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
Essential Functions:
- Participates in the design and enhancement of operational systems, business processes, and reports
- Prepares “BRDs” (Business Requirements Document) and “FSDs” (Functional Specifications Document, and recommendations
- Assesses project and/or business needs and produces supporting data and reports
- Charts existing business processes in order to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models
- Manages projects related to suggested changes
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes
- Prepare recommendations or alternatives for improving processes
- Develops and documents business processes including documenting business rules, flow charts, and inter-department workflow
- Owns tasks and projects through full SDLC
- Prepares UAT test cases and coordinates UAT with business leaders
- Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirement of the position

Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; and 3+ years relevant experience in analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in higher education preferred.
- Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred.

- Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
- Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
- Ability to drive towards achieving measurable and challenging goals to support organizational success. - Knowledge of flow-chart software (like Visio).
- Knowledge of SQL query creation.
- Knowledge of the SDLC process.
- Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of ticketing system like Jira
- Knowledge of major systems like CRMs (Customer Relations Management), SISs (Student Information Systems), LMSs (Learning Management Systems)

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency. Compensation Range:
