Business Analyst - (On-Call/Part time)

We are looking for a Business Analyst with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our multi-disciplinary coordinating center team. This role involves supporting a website for an NIH-funded research consortium. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of business operations.

This position will be on-call and remote (within the continental United States) with an anticipated workload ranging from 20 hours to as many hours as the candidate can provide up to 40 hours per week. We are unable to guarantee any hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning for website development and releases by gathering and refining requirements.
  • Support the design, testing, and delivery of web-based tools and ensure alignment with functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and end users to understand business needs for development team.
  • Translate business requirements into clear and detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and priority for development teams.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure the successful implementation of features and solutions.
  • Communicate with multiple teams to ensure requirements are clear and well understood from a functional and technical perspective.
  • Create and maintain requirements and testing documentation, ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Contribute to developing intuitive user workflows and user interfaces that enhance usability and ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Develop comprehensive testing plans, prepare testers, and manage the testing process to ensure clarity and thorough testing.
  • Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that the solution meets business requirements and expectations.
  • Perform manual testing and validation of new features and functionalities, ensuring they meet documented requirements and quality standards.
  • Conduct demos or training sessions necessary for the successful execution of releases.
  • Document processes, workflows, and system configurations to ensure transparency and maintainability.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with team members regarding the status of various tasks, including leading status update meetings.
  • Develop an understanding of client processes and procedures to identify potential improvements.
  • Coordinate among diverse program stakeholders to ensure cohesive project execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience gathering and refining requirements, writing user stories, and conducting UI/UX design.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills, including developing requirement and design specifications, use cases, test plans, and other supporting system documentation.
  • 1+ year of experience with manual testing, tracking issues, and working closely with teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, including user roles, configuration, and content editing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office products, such as Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate among diverse program stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps practices and tools.
  • Swift ability to break down tasks into Epics, Stories, and Tasks.
  • One industry-recognized project management certification is preferred.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$63,511.00 - $107,968.00
