We are looking for a motivated, customer-oriented Business Analyst to join our growing digital services team at Coforma.
This role will join a cross-functional team on an existing contract with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). As a Business Analyst, you’ll support FMCSA with a collection of web-hosted Tableau dashboards that facilitate quick, reliable, and accurate access to FMCSA data reporting (e.g., budget and financial reporting, grants management, tracking motor carrier vetting activities). 
You’ll work on an established, Agile development team to iteratively develop, enhance, and refine new and existing dashboards that both expand and bolster FMCSA’s business operations. In addition, you’ll be instrumental in the team’s delivery of user support and training to FMCSA users.

Location: Hybrid (In-office 3-4 days a month)
$103,000 to $114,000 Annual Salary + Benefits + Growth PotentialPlacement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate. An offer will be made at one of the following tiers:
Tier 1: $103,000 — Meets minimum qualification/experience requirements. Beyond onboarding, will need additional guidance and training to perform key responsibilities of the role.Tier 2: $108,500 — Experienced and fully-competent. Beyond onboarding, can independently perform key responsibilities of the role.Tier 3: $114,000 — Highly-experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed.
To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable.

This is a hybrid role (remote and in-office) that is required to report to the Department of Transportation FMCSA office in Washington, DC 3-4 times a month. Applicants must reside within commuting distance of the Department of Transportation FMCSA office to be considered for this position.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Analyze the business objectives of various stakeholders and develop solutions that fit their business needs
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into specific software requirements
  • Develop use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Proactively seek business needs and requirements across diverse customer and stakeholder environments as well as the broad team, and lead/drive work efforts as necessary
  • Work closely with the technical team to continually improve application functionality, design, and usability
  • Perform data reconciliation and quality/accuracy testing
  • Maintain SharePoint site content for a variety of user support information and processes (e.g., FAQs, access request guidance, user guides)
  • Monitor shared user support email box and engage directly with stakeholders and users for all types of inquiries (e.g., account/access issues, training/demos, enhancement requests)

Who You Are (Requirements)

  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role
  • Full-time resident of the United States with the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination and pass a DOT Background Investigation
  • Ability to report on-site to the Department of Transportation FMCSA office in Washington, DC 3-4 times a month
  • Ability to work in a highly agile environment where work planning and execution occurs iteratively (baseline is weekly but often adapts to emerging needs from the customer)
  • Ability to work and directly engage with a diverse group of stakeholders (sometimes independently)
  • Strong time management and coordination skills with the ability to adapt to changes
  • Experience defining data and business process requirements
  • Grasp of the principles, theories, and concepts of the Agile software development life cycle
  • Intermediate proficiency with Tableau

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior experience working on federal contracts is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working at the Department of Transportation
  • Current, active Public Trust determination
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of JIRA or similar tracking tools
  • Automation experience
