Job Description

As a member of the Corporate Actuarial Department (MIS Group), this position works directly with Actuarial, Financial, Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, and IT to provide data support, reports, and general system expertise.The Business Analyst must be able to analyze business requirements, convert specifications, and develop effective solutions.  The analyst must be flexible, able to function independently or within a team, able to communicate technical concepts to various audiences, and willing to learn new technologies and business concepts.

 

What you will do:

  • Prepare data and reports in support of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Analyze user requirements and accurately prepare reports/products/analysis using the most efficient tools available
  • Assist with corporate systems that are essential for quarterly financial results (i.e. IBNR System and Results Analysis)
  • Provide technical guidance or support to team members as needed
  • Design/enhance, test, and implement efficient database and reporting systems
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses as directed

What you will bring to C&F:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or related field
  • Programming experience with knowledge of structured programming techniques and demonstrated programming skills is preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance and actuarial terminology and concepts is a plus
  • Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL knowledge is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently with guidance as well as collaboratively.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $56,200 to a maximum of $82,400. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
