Bursar Manager

As the Bursar Manager, you are responsible for reconciling student payments and ensuring all accounts properly reflect a student’s payment history. You also assist the AP/AR Manager with posting cash receipts and ensuring that all students’ needs relating to required payments are met.

As the Bursar Manager, you are responsible for reconciling student payments and ensuring all accounts properly reflect a student’s payment history. You also assist the AP/AR Manager with posting cash receipts and ensuring that all students’ needs relating to required payments are met.
Compensation
ACE is committed to paying a competitive wage while staying true to our mission of maintaining high quality, affordable programs for our students. The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 plus all full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus. Offers vary depending on education, prior experience, and expertise being applied to the role.

Day to Day Responsibilities
In this role you will wear different hats, but your skills will be especially essential in the following areas:
- Supervises all bursar functions and related personnel.
- Serves as a coach and mentor to all team members; creates an environment that fosters growth.
- Offers students the highest level of customer service through the billing and collections process.
- Hires and trains members of the bursar team as well as conduct performance evaluations.
- Maintains office policies and procedures as needed and keep updated business practice to achieve institutional goals.
- Works closely with student accounting team to ensure billing information matches student documents.
- Collaborates with other departments to create stream-lined and effective processes and communications to create a positive experience for the student.
- Responds to student needs via email and phone.
- Manages team to answer questions about student accounts and takes payments.
- Advises students about payment methods, payment alerts and changes to their accounts.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 2-5+ years of leadership experience in bursar, financial aid, or student accounting office.
- Preferred experience with Campus Nexus/Anthology student information system.
- Preferred experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Able to diffuse difficult student/customer issues.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
