Job Description

  • Performs field inspections using approved architectural drawings of buildings & structures under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Construction Compliance to ensure compliance with state building codes & statutes.
  • Conducts, as needed, inspections of existing buildings & structures for safety to determine if Certificates of Occupancy may be issued.
  • Complete assigned inspections daily in a multi county territory.
  • Inspect general building construction and mechanical systems.
  • Work local and State authorities.

Qualifications

Certification as a Building Inspector through the Ohio Board of Building Standards; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in the use of computers, wireless technology & software such as Outlook, Adobe, Word; valid driver's license. Please note: an agility assessment will be conducted to ensure capability to endure hazardous elements of this position
