Reports To: Technology Design Director

Salary: $75,000-$90,000/yr.

Other Forms of Compensation: 5% Bonus Potential

Job Summary

 

A Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator at Waveguide is a company expert for all BIM related software, services, processes, coordination, collaboration, training and innovation. They serve as the primary resource for all other employees for answers, guidance, instruction and direction regarding BIM related tools, processes, software and communication.  A BIM Coordinator will understand, articulate and implement current capabilities, functions and operations of software and cloud platforms as well as being up to date on future releases as published by software companies and service providers in order to help drive adoption, efficiency, innovation and strategic development. Remote / home-based work is anticipated as the primary workplace assuming the candidate meets the minimum home-office requirements. Daily responsibilities will include the following:
 

Responsibilities 

  • Act as Waveguide’s multidisciplinary technology consulting services within the scope of projects with regards to design documentation and modeling software
  • Create and maintain internal project delivery processes related to model setup and publishing
  • Create and maintain the proper application of templates, guidelines, standards, tools and processes
  • Create and maintain the proper application of libraries, family templates, families and other BIM related elements
  • Responsible for model derivatives and renderings
  • Responsible for setup of all project models and for monitoring and maintaining the health and accuracy of those models through active internal and external coordination
  • Responsible for planning and estimating time for BIM related activities and for project execution to project budgets including active monitoring along with identification and assistance in resolving issues, conflicts, etc.
  • Contribute to automation tools to make BIM activities more efficient and consistent
  • Ensure Waveguide conforms to BIM Execution Plans and all contractual requirements surrounding project modeling and documentation
  • Responsible for transferring and posting of modeling content for internal and external coordination
  • Manage version control
  • Obtain and maintain Waveguide’s BIM Collaborate access rights for external project sites
  • Ongoing training and research to stay current on the state of BIM in the construction industry and assist in the training and support of designers as needed

 

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience managing and delivering professional BIM related services for projects in the AEC industry
  • Four-year or higher degree in a relevant technical field (BSCM) or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk AEC suite tools including Revit, AutoCAD and collaboration tools like the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) including hosting and collaboration strategies
  • Strong understanding of commercial/institutional design and construction concepts, applications and operations 
  • Basic familiarity with commercial/institutional building design and construction, including understanding of typical building systems (i.e. HVAC, electrical, lighting, building controls, security, etc.) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in all MS Office application 
  • Suitable environment for audio and video calls, 90+% remote work anticipated.  Minimal travel required (<10%, mainly for training and occasional staff meetings or project site reviews)
