Home based – Building Home claims Adjuster
Salary £32.000
Aviva are looking for an experienced Building Home claims adjuster to assess/ validate lower to mid complexity, under £10,000 using virtual technology and using your core knowledge of building pathology expertise to create the required schedule of works to provide the customer with a financial settlement option, or utilising our panel of network contractors, supporting the customer throughout the journey.
A bit about the job:
Working within a driven and customer focused team, committed to delivering the right outcome for our customers, in line with consumer Duty.
You will demonstrate effective cost management on all claims, evidenced by control of cost/indemnity within policy cover, demonstrating accurate policy interpretation, understanding principles of insurance, and our core philosophies and standards. The role is to provide accurate settlements for our customers, whilst delivering exceptional customer service.
You will be dealing with predominantly, EOW, storm, accidental damage, fire, impact, malicious damage- your role will be to complete a virtual assessment & build a schedule of works using cutting edge technology which will form the option of a cash settlement for our customer. The options to the customer are cash or utilising our panel Network.
Your role will involve working alongside a large team collaborating as an E2E system with a share vision of our Aviva Strategy to achieve the best outcomes for the business and our customers.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Excellent knowledge of the insurance industry related to home insurance policies and claims management, Understanding of Financial Conduct Authority/ Financial Ombudsman and Consumer Duty Legislation and how these impact claim
Understanding of underwriting risks, peril related damage, policy interpretation, limits, endorsements and how these impact the delivery of the settlement, experience identifying and managing vulnerable customers.
Strong communicator, ideally the candidate will have a “customer focus” attitude, Problem solver/continuous improvement focus and participation.
Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation including Asbestos regulations, and accurate handling of these
Commitment to building own knowledge, technical, theory and practical, through mentoring, undertaking courses and independent learning, Experience creating schedule of works using defined schedules of rates
Qualifications:
BDMA accreditation (desirable)
Accreditation to CII, CIOB, CILA, RICS (desirable)
