Building Coordinator

Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater – minimum of 3 days per week on site.

Are you experienced in managing building projects from start to finish, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion? Can you coordinate with engineers, contractors, and senior management to meet project objectives and exceed expectations? Are you skilled in multitasking, maintaining attention to detail, and prioritising tasks to meet project deadlines?

Then we have a role for you!

The Opportunity

Hinkley Point C (HPC) is a key part of the UK's future energy plan. As the first of a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK, its success depends on innovative engineering, construction, and careful management of changes in cost, quality, and delivery.

As the Building Coordinator, you'll ensure the completion of all tasks and updates for your assigned buildings. Working closely with the JDO Area Lead, and the Designer and Construction teams, you'll help keep the project on track and aligned with our schedule.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a starting salary of £62,000 - £72,000 (negotiable depending on experience), and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

  • As part of the Joint Design Office (JDO) team, you'll coordinate efforts among engineers from different technical disciplines. You'll track JDO's performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting tools, and look for ways to improve processes. A key responsibility will be ensuring design and construction changes are delivered on time to meet project needs.
  • You'll take part in reviews of design packages before construction, collaborate closely with Design, Contractor, and Construction teams to uphold quality, schedules, and safety standards, and provide regular updates to the JDO Area Lead and Nuclear Island Engineering Manager on risks and issues for quick resolution.

Who you are

  • We’re looking for someone with a degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) or equivalent experience, ideally in large, multi-disciplinary engineering projects, especially in the nuclear sector.
  • You’ll need to be familiar with Contract Management, ONR, and CDM Regulations, and be able to keep accurate records. If you enjoy spotting ways to improve processes and solving straightforward technical issues, you’ll be a great fit.
  • We’re looking for someone who’s accurate, tenacious, diplomatic, and driven to get results, while being a strong team player. You should be proactive, able to set your own targets, and create action plans to meet project goals.
  • Experience in design, drafting, or construction, along with excellent communication skills, is key. Plus, you should be comfortable working independently and taking a practical approach to solving problems.

Success is personal. It’s your journey, powered by us. Join us and we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero, together.
